My Projects

Covid-19 Tracker
  • This app monitors and visualizes the Covid-19 cases world-wide
  • It also shows the individual stats for each country in terms of a bar graph
  • The app has been deployed at https://investigate-covid-19.netlify.app/

My Product Observations

Packaging of Lenovo Legion Series Laptop
  • Lenovo Legion series laptop has an interesting packaging style.
  • The laptop comes packed in a custom-cut styrofoam bracket, which elevates through an inch when you open it. A small cut in the corner, and some precise sizing is all it takes, but it delivers an Aha! moment to the customer.
  • It reminded me of the vaccum/swoosh one feels while unpacking a new iPhone box, which delivers a similar experience.
  • Innovation is key, especially when the competition is as fierce as it is in the electronics market.ey, especially when the competition is as fierce as it is in the electronics market.
Adobe's move to increase adoption of Creative Cloud
  • Adobe renamed the Split tone feature of Lightroom Mobile to Grading, which is what the feature is called within Premiere Pro. Interestingly, the Desktop application still refers to it as Split toning. I think this might be a step by Adobe as part of its movement to promote creative cloud as a package, rather than the individual products.

Mini Case Studies

According to you, what feature is missing in Netflix?

My approach for such a problem would be to understand the significant user segments using Netflix and their pain points. I would then analyze which pain points aren't getting enough attention. For this example, one major user group for Netflix would be college/university students. A pain point that I find is the inability to watch content together on Netflix. Given the backdrop of Covid-19 and the troubles that social distancing brings with it, I think a feature that allows users to chat or video call while streaming their favourite shows would be a massive plus to Netflix.

If Google were to launch a driverless cab service in India, how would you launch it?

My approach for such a problem would be to first define the scope of the commitment, then identify and analyze the variables in the system and finally set goals and define a timeline. For this example, I think there are a few variables that are of the utmost importance. Given that the driverless car technology is fairly new, making sure that suitable conditions like good roads, educated drivers(traffic), etc will enable the cars to perform better.  I would therefore recommend that the service be started as a work to home cab service in Tier 1 cities in India.
