Users (typically price-sensitive) usually search for places via Google and then check fare prices in Uber/Ola/other applications and decide accordingly. There is multiple back-and-forth between Google and other ride-hailing applications (low customer switching cost), and with competitive prices, Uber loses out on some customers here.
To reduce this drop-off, a new feature would be built. After opening the app, the user enters a price range and type of place to visit (e.g., restaurant), and Uber presents a list of places to visit. There would be filters (price, popularity, previously visited, etc.) to sort the list according to user needs.
